Rubio and Kasich, meanwhile, largely stayed away from attacking fellow Republicans.
Former state Rep. Ross McGregor spent this week campaigning in New Hampshire for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination.
The newspaper says Kasich’s “record as governor of OH shows him to be a pragmatic, fiscally responsible executive, but one who is also concerned with helping the poor”. “While 17% say Kasich would make a good or great president, 25% say he would be poor or bad, and 31% think he would be average; 27% of Republican voters express no opinion about Kasich possibly becoming president, the highest percentage among GOP candidates”.
Both papers have large audiences in southern New Hampshire, the first-in-the-nation primary state where Kasich and Christie are hoping for strong performances to buoy their candidacies.
John Kasich has made impressive gains in the latest polls. Voters are very knowledgeable about Kasich, but many support Trump, he said. Ted Cruz and farther behind billionaire Donald Trump, according to RealClearPolitics.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will visit the Country View Restaurant in Greenland at 8:45 a.m., hold an employee town hall event at Fidelity in Merrimack at 11:30 a.m. and hold a town hall event at the Hooksett American Legion at 6 p.m. If he comes in second in New Hampshire he could be the big comeback story.
“You know, if I were the bus driver, I wouldn’t be doing what some of our people in our race are doing, and that’s looking in the rear view mirror”, he said, adding, “If you really want to be a great bus driver, you’re looking way at the auto up front”.
