Death Star DLC coming to Star Wars Battlefront later this year

February will see even more free content headlined by a new survival map on Hoth. The Tatooine Survival map – officially called “Raider Camp” – will support Blast, Droid Run, Hero Hunt, Drop Zone, and Heroes vs Villains multiplayer modes.

Many fans were thrilled when they heard that the upcoming patch for “Star Wars: Battlefront” will finally contain a new map in the desert planet Tatooine.

Like many big-publisher releases that come out nowadays, Battlefront’s post-launch content is tethered to a season pass. Spend the $50 on the season pass and you get early access to four expansion packs with a mix of new weapons, locations and hero characters. And Jabba the Hutt’s palace (will it have a rancor?), and the Cloud City of Bespin. Expect this pack to be filled with Death Star-themed maps.

In addition to the upcoming DLC, Latin Post reported that in a previous post by the PlayStation Lifestyle, Patrick Sodurland of EA said that the upcoming DLC along with the free contents make the game more interesting. Also from the tease, private matches, daily challenges, community events and balancing tweaks are all getting included with the free update. If you don’t want the Season Pass, but one of these packs sounds interesting to you, each one will be available to purchase separately.

Starting in February, a new Survival mission on Hoth and a brand new Hoth multiplayer map supporting the “larger” game modes such as Walker Assault, Supremacy, Fighter Squadron, and Turning Porn will be made available.

“The issue of a mostly online multiplayer approach has been previously questioned for ‘Star Wars Battlefront.’ And even though previous betas and playthroughs did show a relatively enjoyable game, the hurdles for other players to enjoy it with Internet connectivity issues and the like can be limiting”, it continued.
