“Most people put them in a rock field because they were the leaders of the country’s rock movement, but the biggest impact the Eagles had with Glenn Frey are on today’s country music”, Pringle said.

In a new statement, Felder says he’s been left “with a very heavy heart filled with sorrow”, after Frey’s death at age 67 yesterday.

“He was the spark plug, the man with the plan”, Henley said.

At Tritt’s suggestion the video for his version of the song reunited the band’s classic lineup (Frey, Don Henley, Don Felder, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit), who hadn’t performed together since their split 13 years prior.

Call it being in the right time at the right place; Pringle said the Eagles hit the rock scene at a time when music was incredibly important, not just popular. “He was amusing, strong, and generous”.

The band’s original members also included Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner. Several of his compositions were for films or TV shows, and Frey took on a side career as an actor, including a small part in 1996 film “Jerry Maguire”. Following the signatures were the lyrics to “It’s Your World Now”, written by Frey and Jack Tempchin and was recorded to the Long Road Out of Eden album.

‘He was like a brother to me; we were family, and like most families, there was some dysfunction. Now another country star influenced by the country-rock of Frey’s band has paid his respects: Keith Urban took to Facebook late Monday night to share his condolences by performing a cover of the Eagles’ “Take It Easy”. Sadly now we will never get the chance.

Frey died Monday from complications of multiple health problems. Frey had been battling intestinal issues for months and had a surgery in November.

The Eagles had been slated to join songwriter Carole King, “Star Wars” director George Lucas and others in receiving the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors in Washington last month.

“Thank you for the music that paved the way for so many others”, country star Brad Paisley said in praising Frey on Twitter.
