Donald Trump Leads in Iowa and New Hampshire

I’m inking the Trump dot. For one thing, 2010 was a historic year for Republicans. “I will not engage in personal attacks”. “At a certain point you’ve got to make deals”. “You’ve gotta go out”.

Trump has added much color to the race. His team argues that more Iowans will have seen him, and many will have met him, than any other candidate.

“I have the most loyal people”. We would have heard a lot of the same old “lower taxes, smaller government, blah blah”. When they quieted down, Trump pointed into the audience.

My Republican friends, look at our lineup. But even in the now-retooled digital presence, Cruz’s Hispanic background continues to be a calling card for his candidacy – at least in the eyes of his big-money super PAC backers. We have had years to groom and raise up people who could have run and made it. We have had some great ones drop out because of bad campaign management.

“Remember, while some Trump defenders like to pretend that his support for single-payer is in the past, this is not true”, Mair said.

Maybe Republicans like Castellanos and those advising the candidates are playing three-dimensional chess and the proper play is to let Trump romp in the short term to secure victory in the long term. Take your hands, put them around your neck and squeeze. Yup.

We are not dealing with the issues as a party.

And referencing the poor poll numbers of Jeb Bush, often seen as the GOP’s main “establishment” candidate, Trump proceeded to offer some advice to the former Florida governor. For results among the 405 registered voters who are Republicans or independents who lean toward the Republican Party, the margin of sampling error is plus or minus 5.0 percentage points. “My son, like so many others, came back a bit different, they come back hardened”.

This ideological fervor should in theory help him win over evangelical Christian voters – who make up about 60 percent of the Republicans who cast ballots in 2012. “We have so many instances like that”.

These professional politicians in the party are simply falling in line the “Washington way”.

That task becomes more hard when supporters, like many of Mr. Trump’s, have never been to a caucus before and don’t know where to go or what to except. He can’t be bought. My goal isn’t to justify my place of employment to the world of social media; it’s to make sure that people know about the good people that live in Sioux Center and work at Dordt College. And that’s just the tip of the Trump iceberg. In polls last summer, Christie led in this question. No other candidate hits double-digits on that measure. Is he unstoppable? He could have been.

Wolf Blitzer: You say the establishment is against you. The GOP tore him down, but when he finally won – and won again – with one of the highest approval ratings, what could they say? And he never will. And that’s okay, but we gotta do something, folks, because it’s not working. “What am I not doing right?” His commentary publishes Mondays.
