Curry does it all again as Warriors dismantle Spurs, 120-90

“I’m just glad my general manager wasn’t in the locker room”, he said, “because it might have gotten me fired”.

The Golden State Warriors made the San Antonio Spurs look ordinary on Monday.

On Week 14 of NBA Power Rankings, the Golden State Warriors reign supreme after a 30-point rout of the San Antonio Spurs.

The Spurs averaged an 18-point margin of victory during their winning streak.

“It was like men and boys out there tonight, I thought, as far as the toughness and the aggressiveness was concerned in every facet of the game”, he added.

Hawks-Nuggets: Atlanta didn’t have a whole lot of trouble with Denver last night; they cruised to a 119-105 victory on the road.

“Everything has to go right, so to me it’s not really worth discussing until there’s a few weeks left in the season and it’s actually a possibility”. Leonard led the Spurs (38-6) with 16 points and five rebounds, but they neither shot the ball nor rebounded well.

-Oklahoma City at New York, Tuesday: Madison Square Garden was the only arena Thunder coach Billy Donovan called home as an National Basketball Association player, albeit for a mere 24 games as a Knick in 1987-88. “Obviously, the score was in our favor, but we had to work for everything”.

And like MJ’s Bulls, the Warriors the most anticipated traveling show in the land.

He finished with four points in 13 first-half minutes.

Prior to the game, the Spurs were just two games behind Golden State in the Western Conference. “It was our defensive pressure that set that pace”. They’re a team that normally doesn’t turn it over.

The Warriors outshot the Spurs in each quarter, holding them to 41.9% for field goals and 35.7% at the three-point line.

Curry galloped down the court and pounded his chest after his second straight 3-pointer and 10th consecutive point put Golden State up 76-56 with 7:55 to go in the third. On the other hand, he made the biggest splash of the offseason when he chose to sign as a free agent with the Spurs, and, recent events notwithstanding, he has helped them get off to a fantastic start, so perhaps everyone should have cut him just a little bit of slack.

Green had 11 points, nine rebounds and six assists in 27 minutes, and shooting guard Klay Thompson was a sixth Warrior in double figures with 11 points. Steph Curry had 37 points throughout the three quarters and the Spurs just could not find an antidote for the reigning MVP who scored six three-pointers and just could not miss the rim.

Odd as it sounds, it’s possible there could be an All-Star Game without Kyrie Irving, Dirk Nowitzki, Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge.

Aldridge scored five points.

“Manu Ginobili summed it up in his pregame wrap-up when he stated the Warriors, ‘outplayed us in every single aspect of the game”, Spurs guard Manu Ginobili said. “I’m not embarrassed to face it”. The Spurs seemed to have the best facsimile of a Curry stopper in Leonard, a long-armed, athletic freak who had LeBron James cursing under his breath in back-to-back Finals.

The Warriors broke the Spurs’ elite defense in the second quarter.

“I love Pop, he’s my guy”, Kerr smiled, “but I don’t feel that bad right now”.
