Homefront: The Revolution 4-Player Resistance Mode Announced

But Deep Silver says the missions will be “narrative-driven”, and there will be a lot of them: The plan is to launch with a dozen Resistance Mode missions in the game, and then put out another 20 over the first year of release, all of them free.

Homefront: The Revolution’s fight for freedom will be a tough one, but not necessarily a lonely one.

Now, what’s Resistance Mode?

Resistance Mode is a brand new four-player co-operative online experience.

Xbox One owners will be the first to try the new mode out: there’s an Xbox One closed beta running from February 12-15, and also Resistance Mode sneak previews taking place on January 30 and February 6.

After revealing the new launch date for Homefront: The Revolution a few weeks ago, publisher Deep Silver has provided even more information about the upcoming shooter including a four player co-op mode called Resistance and when players can expect to participate in the Xbox One exclusive closed beta.

Gamers who pre-order on any platform will receive the “Revolutionary Spirit”, which gives “unique skins and instant unlocks of select weapons for the campaign”.

Purchasing skills, finding and earning weapon blueprints, equipment and combat gear allows your rag tag team of civilians to transform into hardened resistance fighters.

Homefront: The Revolution is scheduled for release May 17 in North America and May 20 in all other territories on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You will also get the Red Skull motorbike and Golden pistol skins for single player and the Marksman Rifle, Sniper Scope, and Remote Explosives for your Resistance Mode character. The long awaited and perennially in development Homefront: The Revolution is the sequel to the 2011 game by Kaos Media, which followed a controversial story where the United States is invaded by a united Korean communist front.
