Virat Kohli Happy to Begin World T20 Preparations With Win

Australia Twenty20 skipper Aaron Finch today heaped praise on Virat Kohli, saying it is almost impossible to stop the Indian batsman once he gets going.Kohli slammed an unbeaten 90 before a collective bowling effort gave India a resounding start in the Twenty20 series with a 37-run win over Australia in the first match of the three-game series.

“It was good to see our bowlers making the batsmen play the big shot because you can really put pressure on them that way”.

The CA spokesperson said his organisation worked with the players and the ACA to ensure they received ongoing feedback about the use of broadcast technology.

“For me, I’ve been doing it all the time and I feel no added pressure”.

“The wicket didn’t change much and it might have spun slightly more”.

Ashwin and Jadeja claimed the initial four wickets in Australia’s slump as they hosts went from 1-89 to 5-110 in a 27-ball span. When you are ultra aggressive against them, that makes for favouring them.

Australia failed to reach India’s Virat Kohli-inspired total of 188-3 in Adelaide, responding with 151 all out in a disappointing 37-run defeat. Only 21 runs were scored in the next four overs, a travesty considering the required run rate. So, while the statistics might indicate that the 22-year old Jasprit Bumrah was India’s best bowler with three wickets in the match, they do not tell the whole story. I wouldn’t say it backfired.

Shane Watson gets another chance but his time could be running out and will need to perform in this line-up of exciting, young cricketers which also has James Faulkner and Glenn Maxwell as the other spinners, while there’s Mitchell Marsh waiting in the rans.

Finch said it was near futile setting a field for Kohli, given the strokeplayer’s soft hands, supple wrists and twinkling feet. I think he should’ve had 3-20… but that’s what happens in this game.

“It is two games in a row now, in two different formats, that has let us down”. Both the teams played very well and the One Day series was a hit for both teams and their fans. “It was just one of those things that’s contagious at the moment and you just want someone to pull off a half chance, so that everyone is back up and about again”, the captain explained.

It must be remembered teams could be looking to experiment with their squads as they build up to the World T20 that will be held in India in March. “He just changed his pace and changed his length and stuff so well”.

India finally look like they have a grip on white-ball cricket as they dug deep and showed extraordinary nerve to stifle the Australians, who were running away with the game in the early overs. “He was outstanding and obviously got two wickets which helps but we couldn’t back it up in the middle, which was disappointing”, he said. “It’s all about the guys taking the opportunity and be at the forefront of the selectors’ minds when that 15-man squad is named”, he signed off.
