Sanders draws 20K to rallies in Duluth, St. Paul

With the Iowa caucuses less than a week away, leading Democratic candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton have released new television ads in Iowa, making two distinct cases for their candidacies.

“Bernie Sanders in the final week before the Iowa caucus”, said Quinnipiac polling director Peter A. Brown.

“Now you’ve got to stop and think, why are they spending all this money trying to convince Democrats not to support me?”

In addition to decrying economic inequities, Sanders called for a $15 minimum wage, free tuition at state colleges and universities, campaign finance reform, and repairs to a “broken criminal justice system”, the Star Tribune says.

The same can be said for Minnesota, one of the March 1 states Sanders has a chance win. Sanders is counting on enthusiastic younger voters to boost turn out at the caucuses to offset Clinton’s organizational strength.

“We are touching a nerve with the American people who understand that establishment politics just aren’t bold enough”, Sanders said Monday. For some reason, Democrat women really, really believe America is a horribly oppressive and misogynistic country (could it be a liberal problem, since that’s who they surround themselves with?) and believe every word Ms. Clinton says about inequality.

Also Tuesday, an Arizona sheriff known far beyond his home state for his efforts to crack down on illegal immigration joined Trump on the campaign trail in Iowa.

The Iowa Democratic Candidates Town Hall on CNN last night drew the most viewers on cable news from 9-11 p.m. ET.

If elected, Sanders would be the oldest president – almost six years older than Ronald Reagan when he took office. “But Sanders has a considerable lead over her in New Hampshire, so if he can win and gain that momentum, that will be something to watch”. Sanders’ main rival, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has dropped by the White House for meetings with the president several times since leaving the administration. “You can just kind of tell when someone isn’t honest, but Bernie’s been saying the same thing for decades and he doesn’t sway on the issues”. He added: “Why did it take Hillary Clinton such a long time before she came into opposition to the Keystone Pipeline?” He intends to caucus for Sanders next Monday in Iowa, which is allowed because he will be 18 by Election Day in November. “And the New England Journal of Medicine did an article about four weeks ago and said I’ll be damned, it actually works”.
