Amazon is splashing out on its first-ever Super Bowl commercial

According to Amazon, there are three things Alec Baldwin needs to build a snack stadium for his Super Bowl party: an architect, a five-star chef, and snacks.

The Amazon Super Bowl 50 commercial is the first ad in the Big Game for the internet giant.

“Echo has had an unbelievable reception from customers over the past year-they love it. We thought the Super Bowl was a great chance to tell even more people about what Echo and Alexa can do, and have some fun while doing it”.

Amazon will be making its Super Bowl debut, to promote Echo, its voice-controlled virtual assistant, the company said Wednesday. Last year’s Super Bowl had a record 114 million viewers.

With Super Bowl 50 less than two weeks away, Amazon.com, Inc.

Earlier this month, The Wall Street Journal reported that Amazon will soon release a smaller, portable version of Echo.

Amazon’s ad effort is reminiscent of the spot from Apple that launched in 2012 and tapped celebrities including Samuel L. Jackson and Zooey Deschanel to hawk the value of Siri, the digital helper that comes packaged into many iPhone models.

The company also did not reveal additional creative details, the length of the ad, or when it would run during the game.
