Referencing the tight contest between Cruz and front-runner Trump that has emerged out of the fractured Republican field, Perry added that the primary race “appears to be down to two people”.
And among Iowa Republicans who have actually caucused before, Trump’s lead is much smaller. He concluded the apparent bit by seeming to decide, “No, I would never kill them”.
Even as he’s taken up the anti-establishment mantle, Trump has made some quiet overtures to GOP powerbrokers. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, announcing the news Saturday on social media.

A spokesperson says the paper endorsed Rubio because he has an uplifting message and wants to hold a referendum on the nation’s identity. “They’re just telling people their opinion about Ted Cruz”.

Both Cruz and Rubio saw their support fall slightly in the latest survey, by 4 points and 3 points, respectively. Beck then loaned Cruz one of his prize possessions: a compass Beck said was the only one ever used by George Washington.
