“I haven’t got my bike with me yet, but I hope it’s possible in the future because it’s a great, great passion”, said Guidolin.

Swansea had made the signing of a striker their top priority in the January transfer window, with only bottom club Aston Villa having scored fewer goals in the Barclays Premier League. He was a promising player but very young.

Swansea have submitted a formal bid for Alberto Paloschi, the Daily Mail reports.

Guidolin has previously worked with the 26-year-old at Parma and believes his arrival – for a fee understood to be in the region of £8m – will offer a welcome boost to the Swans as they look to secure their Premier League survival. A former Italian youth worldwide, he started his career with Milan, moving on to Parma and Genoa, before linking up with Chievo in 2011.

Paloschi has scored eight goals in 21 Serie A appearances so far, closing in on his 2013-2014 record of 13 league goals.

“I asked my chairman [Huw Jenkins] if there was a possibility [of signing him] because I like him”.

“In this period, we are linked with many names and players, but at the moment I dont know”. He is a good player, a good guy.

“Gomis is our player at the moment”, said the Swansea boss. “He is too important for our team (to leave)”.
