It’s worth noting, of course, that part of the discounts may be strategically timed to precede the rumored launch of the newest Samsung Galaxy S and LG G phones, which are now thought to appear in March. There have been plenty of rumours flying about around the Galaxy S7 and although nothing is now confirmed, its speculated announcement is imminent.

The Electronic Times report doesn’t say if all of Samsung’s smartphones will be available on the upgrade program, or if it will be limited to the top-tier models like the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lineups. Not three, and not four. However, Samsung will not release a regular Galaxy S7 Edge with the same screen size like in 2015.

Firstly he said that all the variants of Samsung Galaxy S7 will feature a black chassis for a premium look. The flagship iPhones will continue to get released in September but a mid-life refresh model is going to get launched in May.

Instead, Samsung will reportedly release the 5.1-inch regular Galaxy S7, then a 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 Edge.

We’ll have to wait and see how accurate this leaked image is, but expect an announcemnet from Samsung very soon.

The phone comes in as Samsung’s gen-next flagship, and the phone will change the way the markets work. If the rumor proves true, that means that Samsung will stick with the standard Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge models, without abandoning the idea of a Plus variant altogether. Wireless operators are moving away from traditional two-year contracts and the subsidies that come with them, instead requiring customers to pay full price for devices. No specifics have been detailed regarding other software features other than the potential of photo feature similar to Apple’s Live Photos, which will apparently be called Vivid Photos.
