The Academy Awards has unveiled a distinctly diverse slate of presenters and performers for the February 28 Oscars including Kevin Hart, Benicio Del Toro and Whoopi Goldberg. “Because the idea is that there’s no place for black movies”, the 60-year-old said.
And Will believes this is actually representative of a problem the United States is suffering as a whole, so it needs to be tackled by everyone.
We’re just happy the conversation is persisting and that change has actually started happening! “This is not about us and them, it’s about we”, he explained. “I’m a member of the Academy so it’s much more a domestic family issue than it is a civil rights issue, it’s a problem that we all have to solve”.
