Lane Johnson signs 6-year contract extension with Eagles
The Eagles signed Johnson to a six-year contract reportedly worth up to million.

For the most part Johnson has been pretty good, but sweet jesus with the holding penalties. The Eagles didn’t have to make this move know, but they wanted to reward Johnson and give him a long-term commitment earlier than later.
Philadelphia has already signed contract extensions with tight ends Zach Ertz and Brent Celek. “I got to imagine it’ll be somewhere closer to good left tackle money than right tackle, particularly because he’s ultimately going to be shifted”. (9/9/13) and became the first rookie offensive lineman to start at tackle on opening day for the Eagles since John Welbourn in 1999. “That’s what they drafted me for”, he said with his Southern twang Friday at the Eagles’ NovaCare Complex.
In 2013, Johnson made his National Football League debut in the season opener at Was. “When he was working with the quarterbacks back when he was here, I would talk to him a lot about schemes…He totally understands everything that a player goes through”. The Eagles’ next big decision will be figuring out whether or not they want to bring back starting quarterback Sam Bradford, who is an unrestricted free agent. After a redshirt year, Johnson played tight end and defensive end in 2010 before transitioning to the offensive line in 2011.
At a press conference on Friday, Johnson said he expects to wind up on the left side at some point during the life of the deal but that Peters is still the right man for the job in the short term.
