Tom Hanks Is America’s Favorite Movie Star Once Again
Hanks will get a good chance to defend his spot this year, as he’s next starring as heroic pilot Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger in a biopic directed by Clinton Eastwood. However, Hanks himself did not earn a nomination this year.

Neither Hanks nor Depp are up for a best actor Oscar, despite the buzz surrounding their 2015 films when they were first released. ― AFP pic LOS ANGELES, Jan 29 ― Tom Hanks has topped a new poll ranking America’s favourite movie stars for the fifth time.
Washington received the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes on January 10.
The remaining list of actors who ranked under Hanks included “Black Mass” star Johnny Depp, Denzel Washington, John Wayne and Harrison Ford.
Depp’s popularity comes despite him being labeled Hollywood’s least bankable actor, after it was revealed that he returns just $1.80 at the box office for every $1 he is paid.
There were no women in the top five, but there were three in the top ten; Sandra Bullock came in sixth, Jennifer Lawrence was seventh and Julia Roberts landed the number ten spot.
The “Training Day” actor was absent from the big screen in 2015-his last role was the ‘Equalizer, ‘ which hit theaters in 2014.
J-Law recently starred in “Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” and “Joy”.
Interestingly, in addition to being a massive movie star, Tom Hanks is a very outspoken Democrat.
