Hopefully, Flint residents will soon have a worry-free supply of water that we hold so dearly.

In January 2015, while cries from residents of Flint, Mich., that something was wrong with the tap water went ignored, state officials made provisions to have watercoolers installed at the State Office Building in Flint.

Charles Schumer, a democratic US senator from NY said, “The whole country needs to band together along with the state of MI to solve this humanitarian crisis as quickly as possible”.

Snyder has repeatedly apologized for the delay in addressing Flint’s problems, which have led some critics to call for his censure or arrest.

“Trying to understand what’s going on there and making sure that all of our processes are in place to try to prevent things like that from happening”, Jade Dundas, the director of Asheville’s Water Resources Department, said.

“There is not a terrorist organization on Earth that has yet to figure out how to poison 100,000 people every day for two years – and get away with it”, Moore said. But he remains the target of criticism, including longshot efforts to recall him from office.

“A lot of work is being done to even understand where the lead service lines even are”, he said.

Mother Jones reported January 28 that according to newly released emails, MI officials began shipping clean water to its employees before publicly acknowledging the city’s water contamination crisis. “The coolers will arrive today and will be provided as long as the public water does not meet treatment requirements”, the notice said.

“Gov. Snyder and his administration’s policies led to this man-made crisis and he must testify so that the whole truth can be found”, Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Mich.), who represents Flint, said in a Thursday statement. The issue in the alert, which came from the city of Flint originally, wasn’t lead (as the article below notes and I pointed out), but elevated levels of trihalomethane (TTHM) in the water. They must rely on bottled water for drinking, bathing and cooking.

In the same email chain, a district engineer noted the reason for the water cooler delivery: “Appears certain state departments are concerned with Flint’s [water quality]”.

Democrats on a U.S. House committee asked Snyder on Friday for documents related to Flint’s water crisis.

The committee, led by Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), announced the hearing Friday.

“The American people deserve a full accounting of this man-made disaster”, Lawrence said.
