The 30-year-old is expected to leave the Emirates on loan this month and Standard Sport understands Aston Villa are closing in on his signature after agreeing to include a recall clause in the defender’s contract.

Debuchy has been seeking a move away from Arsenal, preferably a loan move, in and attempt to gain first team football, putting himself back in contention for France’s Euro 2016 squad.
Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy will leave the club if an important offer is made, manager Arsene Wenger revealed.
The teenagers were both stars in the U17 World Cup, with Nwakali being named player of the tournament, and Wenger has confirmed deals are close to being agreed.
Sunderland, Roma, Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen were also keen on a move for the right-back.
But Sunderland will need to pip Villa to Debuchy’s signing after new boss Remi Garde has been pursuing his fellow Frenchman throughout the transfer window.
That setback allowed Bellerin to stake his claim as the club’s first-choice right-back and Debuchy has not been able to force his way back into Wenger’s strongest XI since and didn’t get any minutes over the hectic festive period.

“Mathieu [Debuchy] might go somewhere but I don’t know where at the moment and that decision has to be made very quickly now because there is only 48 hours to go”. At the time, he was touted as a like-for-like replacement for the outgoing Bacary Sagna. Staying in England? Why not, I love England, I love the Premier League, so why not?
