Wonder Woman will be very, very old

When she turned up to audition for the role, she thought she was trying for a part as a major Batman nemesis. Today though when so many big screen franchises are shrouded in mystery and contracts involve hefty penalties for letting secrets slip to the media, it might be more common than we think.

The revelation comes from Empire magazine’s latest issue (which also has some pretty intriguing new stills from the film) in which director Zack Snyder reveals that by the time of Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman is 5,000 years old.

Gal Gadot originally thought she was being cast in a different role for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Selina Kyle, of course, is better known as Catwoman. After the ultimate superhero smackdown, Gadot will return for Wonder Woman in 2017, a prequel movie following Diana’s first venture into the outside world during World War I. Then she’ll team up with the Justice League for two movies in DC’s cinematic plan for complete superhero domination.

“I only knew what role it was when I flew in to test with Ben (Affleck)”, she says.

This version of Wonder Woman looks like she means serious business, but Gadot also told Empire that we shouldn’t expect her to be completely grim either. But it is also because of these events that she will be shaped into the role of a warrior and leader that she is. We’ll see how she stepped up to the challenge of her former mystery role when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in theaters on March 25.

Moving on to how the character of Wonder Woman will be written in Batman v Superman, as well as her stand-alone film?

Since superhero movies have become so known in pop culture, no one has expected and allowed a female to lead one and that’s one of the reasons fans are so eager to see a live-action “Wonder Woman” movie as mentioned recently. “She can be naughty”. While that would’ve been interesting to see, I think that the decision to include Wonder Woman was a sound one. She said that Diana of Themyscira has seen everything about humanity and what people are capable of, which made it hard for the character to “come back and fight”.
