Mexico puts “affluenza” teen on plane to Texas
Video released Thursday by the Mexican immigration institute showed Couch wearing a bluish camouflage-print hoodie, being escorted out of the detention center before dawn, and being escorted onto the plane by four agents who didn’t appear to be armed. They were arrested in the Mexican resort town of Puerto Vallarta.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) representatives declared that they’ll be at the court on February 19, to petition for Couch to enter the adult court system. The institute said Thursday that Couch would be placed on a commercial flight to Dallas, Texas.
Anderson said that there are three possible outcomes from the hearing Friday: Couch could be released on bond, he could be ordered to stay at the juvenile facility, or he could be ordered to be taken into custody in an adult jail. In the adult system, he would serve out the remaining eight years on his 10 year probation sentence, still bound by the terms of the original juvenile court sentence; however, he could receive up to 40 years in prison if he violated probation again, which Breitbart Texas reported. Couch will be screened for any medical issues and officially assigned to a housing unit in the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center.
That’s when authorities claim the Couches fled North Texas for Mexico. He was led to a Texas juvenile detention center, where he’s now booked, awaiting tomorrow’s hearing.
The teen and his mother, Tonya Couch, fled the country late past year after a video showing Couch at a party where alcohol was being consumed-a violation of his probation.
The court’s options are limited, since Couch is an adult whose case remains in the juvenile system.
Couch returned to the Dallas-Fort Worth area Thursday after fighting his extradition in the case over whether he broke the terms of his sentence in the 2013 DUI crash that killed four people.
– January 7, 2016 – Law enforcement officers accompany Tonya Couch as she is flown back to Texas.
Last month, authorities said Couch failed to show up for a probation meeting.
His mother was quickly deported.
– December 30, 2015 – Tonya Couch is deported, but a Mexican judge decides to delay Ethan Couch’s deportation.
During the trial, a psychologist sparked outrage by saying in his defense that Couch was so wealthy and spoiled, that he could not tell the difference between right and wrong – hence, he was suffering from affluenza.

Her son had appealed his impending deportation but then dropped the appeal earlier this week, his attorney told The Associated Press.
