Guy Tries To Shoot Himself Underwater In A Life-Threatening Experiment

Then with the help of a long rope he pulled the weapons’ trigger.

Norwegian physicist Andrew Wahl enjoys taking risks to show off core scientific principles for the television programme “Life on the line”.

In a clip that went viral this week, Wahl shot a AG3 assault rifle at himself under water to prove the density of water molecules.

Performing a freaky experiment a scientist fires a gun at himself underwater to see what happens when a bullet is fired underwater. This is despite the fact that the bullet was discharged with the same force as it would have been if it was sacked above the water, and made the same loud “boom”.

The footage shows how courageous the physicist felt at that moment but he also showed relief that the bullet sank. Well, it’s harder to create movement in water than air because water molecules are much closer together. The bullet fell harmlessly to the bottom of the pool. Wahl’s experiment and video evidence should be proof enough that the science is sound.

Despite exiting the gun with the same power as it would have above water – and still firing due to gunpowder being waterproof – water is 800 times denser than air. And all in the name of science.
