Ubisoft details The Division’s post-launch plans

Way back at E3 2014, there was an exclusive marketing deal that took place and it allowed the Xbox One to have the beta version of The Division, available a day before the PS4 and PC version. Shacknews is reporting that the beta officially kicked off but some PC gamers ran into some troubles with accessing it. Various users reported that the beta would begin to load and then “fail”.

The announcement on the Ubisoft Forum was made by Natchai Stappers, a Community Manager at Ubisoft. However, Ubisoft admitted that we wouldn’t be able to get our hands on The Division until 2015, and even that was deemed optimistic by some.

There will also be 3 paid expansions that are included in the Season Pass and will be released over the course of the year. “Thank you for your patience”. Access to the beta was granted either via requesting a key through the game’s website. The beta release is normally designed for people who have pre-ordered the game. After a short wait, you will get your download code for either Xbox One, PS4, or Steam, depending on what you chose. This can be played solo or co-operatively with up to four players on normal or hard difficulty.

Response to The Division’s beta has been mostly positive and the result has been an influx of players dying to get a sneak peek at the highly anticipated game. No further details, such as when these packs will be released or how much they will cost, have been announced.

The multi-player element of The Division is called the Dark Zone. Defending yourself against attacks from other players will not give you the Rogue Agent designation. They are areas where players compete to attain the best loot in the game. Equipment can be dropped by enemies or found in containers, and as always, stumbling across a rare new rifle or a brand spanking new pair of knee pads makes it feel like your efforts have been rewarded.
