Leonardo DiCaprio triumphs at SAGs

Another win for his fantastic performance on The Revenant for Oscar-nominated Leonardo DiCaprio last night at 2016 SAG Awards, and he and Kate Winslet hugged after Julianne Moore announced his name, and made all our Titanic hearts melt.

He’s hoping to earn the same award in a few weeks at the Academy Awards – which would end his decades-long quest to take home an Oscar after five previous nominations. He’s just my person, he’s my best friend…

The actor was humbled by the award and gave a heartfelt speech.

“Thank you for listening to an overly ambitious, slightly annoying 13-year-old kid who wanted to go on auditions every day after school, I wouldn’t be standing here without you.”

“When I was 15 I was lucky enough to get a film called “This Boy’s Life” and after that I watched as many films as I could and it gave me a such a respect for this craft”.

This year, those nominees include Leonardo DiCaprio (“The Revenant“), Brie Larson (“Room”) and Alicia Vikander (“The Danish Girl”), and their podium remarks could also be an indication of whether or how they might address the diversity turmoil surrounding this year’s awards season.

That’s exactly what happened to Orange Is The New Black actress Vicky Jeudy.

At this point, the pronunciation of Domhnall just proved too much for DiCaprio with all the emotion and adrenalin of the win coursing through his veins.
