Jackson Hewitt Tax Service®, the fastest-growing full-service tax preparation company, will focus tax preparers nationwide on raising awareness of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The free tax site at Bellevue Hopelink, 14812 Main St., Bellevue, is open Mondays 5-9 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays 1-9 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The site at Bellevue Goodwill at 14515 NE 20th St., is open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5-9 p.m., and Saturdays 12-4 p.m. That translates to $464 in EITC for individuals without children, and a maximum credit of up to $5,751 for families with three or more children.
If you worked previous year and had income of less than $53,267, check out your eligibility for EITC.
The amount of Earned Income Tax Credit you can collect depends on your income, marital status, whether you have children, and how many children.
A new United Way survey shows most Americans are unaware of free tax filing help and tax credits.
There are several requirements for the EITC credit and each year the eligible population changes by 30%.
The average EITC credit claimed in Wisconsin previous year was more than $2,000. These are dollars for working families and individuals that can make all the difference in helping pay for transportation, housing, school supplies or other critical needs.
