In the western Iowa city of Council Bluffs, Trump brought his wife and daughter on stage and implored Republicans to pick him, noting that Iowa’s 2008 winner, Mike Huckabee, and 2012 victor Rick Santorum both ultimately failed to win the Republican nomination.

But, he added, “It’s very hard to compete with the greatest show on earth and the greatest ground game in Iowa history”. Marco Rubio, who’s hoping to emerge as the mainstream consensus candidate and take the fight to Cruz and Trump.
J. Ann Seizer, pollster for the Iowa Poll, says that it is still anyone’s race. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is at 3% among likely caucus-goers. The mailer refers to a “voting violation” and grades the recipient’s voting history and that of several neighbors, citing public records.
The tone of the flier, however, is tamer than the one sent by the Cruz campaign.
Trump said Friday that he did make Fox a final offer, asking the network to donate $5 million to a veteran’s charity in return for his participation.
Cruz brushed off the fuss. “And I was just told that ours went up because of what we did last night”.
