We had earlier reported that the new bike from Bajaj will be made from the scraps of India’s first aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, which was decommissioned in 2014.

Priced between Rs 60,000 and Rs70,000, the V15 comes with a four-stroke single-cylinder engine with the company’s proprietary DTS-i technology.
Bajaj Auto has launched three versions of its budget cruiser Avenger in the beginning of the calendar year and the country’s second-largest two-wheeler maker plans to produce 20,000 units of V15 per month.
Unfortunately it turned out to be just another commuter bike.
Bajaj will start production of the bike later this week and commence deliveries in March.
While Pulsar is sportier looking the Discover carries a stylish image with commuter bike attributes. “Metal from the INS Vikrant will be used to make the fuel tank of the bike”, said Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto. Valor is introduced with a stylised removable rear seat cow, which can be detached to seat the pillion.
The V15 uses a completely new 149.5cc engine, Bajaj’s first undersquare (bore is less than stroke) engine in ages.
Bajaj bought Vikrant’s metal as scrap from an undisclosed seller before recycling it to get rid of any impurities for further processing and moulding.
The V is for INS Vikrant, as metal from the dismantled aircraft carrier has been used for its construction.

The carrier saw two wars with Pakistan, 1965 and 1971 where it played a crucial role in isolating Pakistan Naval Ships during the war of independence of Bangladesh. It’s trapezoidal headlamp that promises 50-60% more illumination than other bikes adds to its bold stance.
