Hit 2000s television show “Gilmore Girls” will be making a comeback, one of its original cast members confirmed.

The possibility of a Gilmore Girls revival has been in talks since October 2015, when the cast got together for an anniversary celebration. Graham also sent out a tweet to her fans following Netflix’s announcement on Friday confirming the revival. Original creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her producing partner and husband Daniel Palladino are also returning to write, direct, and produce the entire thing.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, however, a title for the revival has not yet been determined, as well as an episode count. Tentatively titled “Gilmore Girls: Seasons”, it’ll take place in present day, a full eight years after the series finale broke our hearts and left us wanting more. But for “Gilmore Girls” fans would be delighted that the show would feature almost everyone on board except for a few exceptions.
Lorelai Gilmore herself (aka star Lauren Graham) confirmed the news via the medium of selfie, which in itself is pretty adorable.
While Netflix is still mum about the show’s premiere date and number episodes, TVLine said the series will run for a limited time, showcasing four 90-minute episodes.
The popular show, which aired 150 episodes from 2000 to 2007, will see actors Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena return as well. Only Melissa McCarthy, who played chef Sookie and has since become a huge movie star, has not been announced as returning (she hasn’t been announced as not returning either). It will also be very bittersweet when the show returns, because we will be without Edward Herrman (Richard), who passed away in 2014. Aside from the present-day setting, no story details have been revealed quite yet, although we did get some more interesting tidbits from TV Line.
