Eight states have deadlines this week for presidential primary voters

You can register to vote at the Elections Administrators office located in the Lamar County Services Building at 231 Lamar Avenue in downtown Paris.

Monday, Feb. 1 is the deadline for Texas residents to register to vote in the March 1 primary for federal, state and county offices.

The primary election is March 1st and will help decide which candidates will be on the ballot in November.

Arkansas law requires voters to register to vote 30 days before the election they wish to vote in. Eligible voters may also apply in person at their county voter registrar’s office. Applications must be postmarked February 1st. Once applications are completed, they can be delivered or sent to one’s county voter registration official depending on the county their address presides in.

“People shouldn’t have to be encouraged to vote, but there’s a lot of cynicism among people who aren’t political”, he said.

Virginians have just one week left to register to vote in the state’s Dual Presidential Primary.

The Democratic ballot again has the footnote urging primary voters to support whoever the Democratic nominees may be in the general election. “Frankly, it’s important, especially in local races, because many of our races will be determined in the Republican primary”.

Early voting begins February 16th and runs through February 26th.

Monday was the last day to register to vote in the 2016 Presidential Primary Election in Georgia
