“I played flawless tennis for the first two sets, no doubt about it”.
Fifth time lucky? You’ve got to be in it to win it!
Murray may be the underdog but the British number one has offered nothing to suggest he has anything but absolute faith that he will claim a third Grand Slam title on Sunday. BBC tennis commentators Andrew Castle and John Lloyd provide a few pointers.
Winning tennis matches never looks like a walk in the park for Murray but for much of the contest against the Canadian, he at least had some justification for the tortured grimaces and explosions of anger that followed every setback. But for it to be the first time to happen is incredible really.
“Novak loves playing on this court. We’ve played a bunch of times here and hopefully this time it can be a different result”.
“I have a very good shot on Sunday if I play my best tennis”.
Djokovic wore down Murray in last year’s attritional final, in which the first two sets lasted two-and-a-half hours, and is renowned for his powers of endurance.
“That’s what we’re going to talk about tomorrow and before the match”, Mauresmo said. Playing after the three-set women’s final, Soares served out the victory at 12.58am local time.
“I have a tremendous respect and admiration for everything he’s achieved in his career”.
Victory for Andy would see him add to his 2013 Wimbledon and 2012 US Open grand slam titles.
But Murray was not the one who ended up with a code violation Friday for breaking his racket with two hammer blows of frustration on the blue hard court.
“She is going out there to try to win again another Grand Slam, making history”, Kerber said.
Murray is confident he has the right strategy and skills to defeat Djokovic.
Djokovic, victor of three Grand Slam tournaments in 2015, is No. 1 in world rankings.
Having had Murray on the ropes for much of the match would have only added to Raonic’s disappointment.

“But you can’t get carried away with that, if you know what I mean”. He has also lost 10 of his last 11 meetings with Djokovic.
MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) – Based on records alone, Novak Djokovic would appear to be the favorite in the Australian Open final against Andy Murray. Obviously, if his injury was restricting him, I wanted to keep the rallies like that.
“The thing about Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic is that their games cancel each other out but Novak seems mentally to be able to hang in there just a bit longer and the pressure seems to tell with Andy”.
Although he is now on the other side of the world to his heavily pregnant wife, Andy has previously said that he would drop out of the tournament to be by her side during the labour, telling reporters: “I’m going to fly home”.

“So I understand the kind of desire and will to win that is present”.
