We’ve always been pretty sure the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge was on the way – and now there’s absolutely no doubt in our minds, as Samsung itself has mentioned the phone on one of its own websites.
The rumors caught fire because the teaser, which is meant to be for the Galaxy S7, focuses on VR.
As for the specs, very little is known, but when it comes the the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge design, some new details have now come to light.
Samsung are expected to unveil the new S7 and S7 Edge at their Samsung Unpacked 2016 event at Mobile World Congress on the 21st of February, both handsets are rumored to go on sale on the 11th of March.
Its metal frame gives it a premium feel that is not too far off from the Galaxy S6 flagship and although its 5.2-inch display isn’t QHD, Super AMOLED is more than decent for a mid-range device. On Monday, we saw the image of the front of the phone leaking on the web. Another supposedly shared feature is always-on functionality, allowing the devices to show basic information on the locked screen while keeping power consumption down to one percent per hour. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge ran off 2,550mAh and 2,600mAh units respectively, but rumours suggest that these have been increased to 3,000mAh for the Galaxy S7 and 3,600mAh for the Galaxy S7 Edge.
