Burton didn’t return to direct the sequel, Alice Through the Looking Glass. Director Tim Burton steps back into simply a producer role on the follow-up, which sees The Muppets helmer James Bobin stepping into the director’s chair. Unfortunately it’s not all tea parties and talking cats for Alice in her latest trip to Wonderland, because she finds her favorite place in a much darker state than it was when she left.
The movie picks up three years after 2010’s Alice In Wonderland and find Alice on a mission to save the imperiled Mad Hatter, according to Entertainment Weekly.

ALAN Rickman’s voice can be heard in the upcoming trailer for the new Alice Through The Looking Glass film.
Alice Through The Looking Glass is set to star the original cast of Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Stephen Fry and Anne Hathaway.

Although only time – and not Sacha Baron Cohen’s version – will tell whether Alice Through the Looking Glass can meet such a tall order. The Hatter has lost his Muchness, so Mirana (Hathaway) sends Alice on a quest to borrow the Chronosphere, a metallic globe inside the chamber of the Grand Clock which powers all time.
