Facebook’s Live Video Streaming to clash against YouTube and Twitter’s Periscope

The option to show live video is being turned on Thursday for everyone in the US with Facebook’s app installed on an iPhone. But the things have changed and the Live streaming becomes mainstream when it has been integrated into the social media. While this feature initially launched in early October for users in California and the United Kingdom, it is still rolling out and is currently only available on the iOS app. The feature is more widely available now and, thankfully, animated profiles will only show when people look at your profile page, so they won’t clutter up News Feeds.

Speaking of selling points, Facebook’s Live Video doesn’t require you to add any extra apps to take advantage of the social networking giant’s livestreaming.

The fact – Facebook live stream will be limited to friends and followers, and the company has not unveiled any plans to integrate the discovery or public showcase of some stranger’s videos, and we know it can’t do like that. The video is then saved to your timeline. You can also toggle between the rear and front camera in the middle of recording, by tapping the icon in the top right area. The difference between Live Video and Meerkat and/or Periscope is that you can treat the videos in the Facebook feature like any other post. The company has deviated from the idea of launching standalone apps after the success of Messenger and Instagram, as it realized that offering new services on Facebook makes more sense, such as Instant Articles.

Periscope and Meerkat have one flaw which does not allow to store videos which are streamed. Although FB is a bit late entering into the game, YouTube and Twitter should be aware that the social network can quickly gain popularity – thanks to its billions of active users. On the other hand, Periscope videos stick around for maximum 24 hours. “But it’s also daunting in that Facebook has such as large presence with consumers who may only choose one live video service to use”.
