Betting line set for Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl 50 national anthem length

USA pop star Lady Gaga is set to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” as part of the Super Bowl 50 pre-game festivities at Levi’s Stadium Sunday in the San Franciso area, the National Football League and CBS announced Tuesday.

This will add to Gaga’s already impressive list of events in February. Gaga now joins the ranks of Idina Menzel, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey and more legendary vocalists who’ve had the same honor in years’ past.

The Grammy Award winning singer will also perform at the Oscars at the end of the month. She’ll be singing alongside Academy Award winning actress Marlee Matlin, who will perform in American Sign Language during the anthem. Lady Gaga isn’t messing around at the moment.

Billy Joel has the shortest national anthem of the last 10 Super Bowls when he breezed through “Oh say can you see” to “and the home of the brave” in one minute and 30 seconds.

Super Bowl 50 will air on CBS, and halftime show performers include Coldplay and Beyonce. She won her sixth Grammy for her collaborative jazz album with Tony Bennett, and she was named woman of the year by Billboard. She won a Golden Globe for her role in “American Horror Story: Hotel” in January. Her song “Til It Happens to You”, which was attached to the film, “The Hunting Ground“, has been nominated for an Academy Award.
