AP declares Hillary Clinton the winner of the Iowa caucuses
Ted Cruz got the most Iowa caucus votes with 27.7%.

A spokesman for the Sanders campaign said it did not intend to challenge the results.
Sanders, for his part, was hoping to replicate President Barack Obama’s pathway to the presidency by using a victory in Iowa to catapult his passion and ideals of “democratic socialism” deep into the primaries. This is unlikely to help him in liberal-leaning New Hampshire, where Messrs Trump and Rubio are now the favourites.
The Des Moines Register reports that Clinton won coin tosses at precincts in Davenport and Des Moines.
And on March 1, seven states across the South – many of which have large nonwhite populations – are set to hold their primaries.
When it was all over in Iowa, Ted Cruz had pulled off a surprise win for the Republican Party.
Democrat Martin O’Malley and Republican Mike Huckabee were the first casualties of the 2016 presidential election, leaving the race after poor showings in the Hawkeye State Monday.
Sanders has vowed to fight hard to win more votes in New Hampshire after he lost Iowa to Clinton, who has always been considered the frontrunner, by less than a single percentage point.
“As I stand here tonight breathing a big sigh of relief”, Clinton told the crowd.
“After thorough reporting – and analysis – of results, there is no uncertainty and Secretary Clinton has clearly won the most national and state delegates”, Hillary for America’s Iowa State Director Matt Paul said.
The pre-election voter surveys in New Hampshire show Trump with a commanding lead over other Republican challengers, but the polling was conducted before Iowa Republicans dented his claim that he only wins.
While social media buzz does not necessarily translate into votes, it is a good indication of the interest level surrounding a candidate. Next up: The first-in-the-nation primary in New Hampshire Feb. 9. He has so far been leading the polls in New Hampshire. But so did Rubio, who continues to stand out as the party go-to both for the moderate GOP voters (and party elites) who made former Gov. Mitt Romney, Sen.
“Because I was told I could not do well in Iowa, I spent very little there – a fraction of Cruz & Rubio”, he tweeted, describing his finish as “a strong second” and “great honor”.
“A lot of things Donald says are a lot of things we all think, right?”

Trump also said there was a chance his decision to skip a Fox News debate among Republican candidates on Thursday might have hurt him in the caucuses.
