The game on Sunday between the Arizona Cardinals and the Carolina Panthers was the first time ever in the history of the National Football League that two quarterbacks who had both won the Heisman Trophy played in a game against one another. The Broncos also went to the Super Bowl two years ago, so there shouldn’t be too much blinking at the bright lights on that side of the field once the teams get to Santa Clara.
The Carolina Panthers are going to the Super Bowl and fans are so pumped that they’re falling out of their seats in excitement – literally! The model gave the Panthers a 20% chance to win the Super Bowl and a 38% chance to win the NFC.
Cam Newton guided the offense to a 17-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. You have to be able to get pressure on him, but you have to be decisive on how you’re rushing. It wasn’t a fluke, considering the Broncos had the No. 1 ranked defense in the regular season.
Denver and Carolina ranked Nos.
Carolina opened as a 4-point favorite with most bookmakers.
Newton won’t have to put up monster numbers in order for the Panthers to win. Should Peyton Manning retire if the Broncos win?
Whether it’s been Manning or Brock Osweiler under center for Denver, the offense has been nothing special this year.
Broncos DT Vance Walker: He signed a three-year deal with the Chiefs in 2014 but hardly played and was cut after one year.
The Panthers forced seven turnovers against the Cardinals.
Newton flipped a 5-yard touchdown pass to Devin Funchess and connected on a 2-point conversion throw for a 42-15 lead and Luke Kuechly returned a Palmer interception 21 yards for a touchdown to end any Arizona hope.
