What We Know: 2 Virginia Tech freshmen held in girl’s death

“The serious charges against Eisenhauer came as a shock to James LeMon, principal of Wilde Lake High School, where Eisenhauer graduated in 2015 before enrolling at Virginia Tech to study engineering and run for the Hokies track team”.

Though little is known, publicly at least, about how or why 13-year-old Nicole Madison Lovell died, the teenage Virginia Tech student accused of killing her and the one accused of helping dispose of the girl’s body have appeared in court.

Eisenhauer is charged with first degree murder and abduction of 13-year old Nicole Lovell.

Nicole Lovell was a typical 13-year-old girl.

David Eisenhauer, 18, is charged with abduction and murder in the death of Nicole Lovell. David Eisenhauer is charged with first-degree murder and Natalie Keepers faces charges including improper disposal of a body.

“Eisenhauer used this relationship to his advantage to abduct and then kill her. Keepers helped Eisenhauer dispose of Nicole’s body”, Blacksburg Police Chief Anthony Wilson said.

Blacksburg police confirmed Saturday that Nicole Lovell was found dead, her remains found in Surry, NC. They are scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on March 28. Cameras, not allowed inside, would have captured Keepers in her orange jumpsuit and shackles telling the judge – barely above a whisper – she understood the charges against her and hired her own attorney. Nicole’s family members did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

He said those are the sites that leave trail or record of the communication which helps detectives further their investigation.

Eisenhauer attended Wilde Lake High School in Columbia, Maryland, according to a now-deleted page from the Virginia Tech cross country team’s online roster.

She loved pandas and pop music, and wanted to be on “American Idol” when she got older, her mother said.

The neighbor says her family just celebrated her getting into Virginia Tech. Authorities had searched the same pond on Sunday, but declined to say what they were looking for. Her body was found in Surry County, North Carolina on Saturday.

Weeks said her daughter had survived a liver transplant, MRSA and lymphoma when she was 5.

Nicole didn’t like going to school because girls called her fat and talked about her transplant scars.

“God got her through all that, and she fought through all that, and he took her life”, Weeks said.

Nicole’s classmates were grieving Monday at Blacksburg Middle School, where 10 counselors were brought in to support them, Montgomery County schools spokeswoman Brenda Drake said.

Lovell often cried to stay home from school, her mother said. A neighbor said the seventh-grader told friends she would sneak out to meet her “boyfriend” David, an 18-year-old she met online through the Kik messaging app.

A number listed for Eisenhauer’s parents in Columbia, Maryland, rang busy. Keepers is a sophomore at Virginia Tech and is originally from Laurel, Md.

Contributors include Associated Press writers Juliet Linderman in Maryland, and Larry O’Dell and Alanna Durkin Richer in Richmond, Virginia.

At the time of her initial disappearance, the girl’s father had expressed hope that his daughter’s immediate whereabouts may be ascertained, whilst at the same time expressing concerns with his daughter’s health given the teen having a liver condition which necessitated her having to take daily medication.
