Apple has to explain today how the Apple Watch was doing
That’s not expected to change anytime soon as Apple has bundled the Apple Watch into an “other products” category within its financial reports.

“‘The Apple Watch is the most sophisticated smart watch to date, and it has proved popular with Apple fans worldwide, said Canalys VP and Principal analyst Chris Jones”. But expectations have been dulled in recent weeks in the face of disappointing anecdotal evidence and third-party data.
So say the folks at analyst outfit Canalys, who reckon Apple shipped 4.2 million of the devices in 2015’s second quarter.
The Apple Watch was released in April to excited crowds, however last month it was announced that sales for the watch had plummeted by 90 per cent.
Apple “easily overtook Fitbit, Xiaomi and all the smart watch vendors” despite the Watch coming in at a significantly higher pricing, starting from £299.
Apple is estimated to have shipped over four million smartwatches in Q2, more than any other wearable vendors. But it also falls within the wide range of analyst estimates that peg sales between 2.85 and 5.7 million units, according to a poll conducted by Fortune.

While the Apple Watch is clearly a point of interest, all eyes will continue to focus on the one product that makes or breaks Apple’s business: the iPhone.
