Clinton on losing young voters to Sanders by 70 points: ‘That’s amazing’

Gordon explains that Clinton is holding the older, more traditional Democrats while Sanders is taking advantage of new voters. “Why is her campaign dissing the Big Apple?”

“So I’m not going to let that bother me”, she said.

Fallon also said Clinton has been the subject of more attack ads from Republicans campaigning in New Hampshire than Sanders, which he argued is contributing to her trailing in the polls.

At a CNN town hall in Derry, New Hampshire, ahead of next Tuesday’s first-in-the-nation primary, Sanders slammed Clinton, arguing that she’s out of step with the party’s base on issues ranging from campaign finance to climate change, trade and the Iraq War. She faces a similar problem in New Hampshire where many young voters say they simply don’t trust her. “It’s not that we think anybody did anything intentionally, but human error happens”.

Later in the event Clinton appeared taken by surprise when she was asked whether she should have been paid $675,000 by Goldman Sachs to give three speeches.

“Some days, yes. Except when she announces that she is a moderate”.

“Their argument is – and it has got some strength to it – look, you are behind here, you are in your opponent’s backyard”, she said.

“I do not know any progressive who has a super PAC and takes $15 million from Wall Street”, Sanders told CNN’s Anderson Cooper. The final delegate equivalent was Clinton: 700.59; and Sanders: 696.82.

The Clinton campaign declared victory late Monday night, but Bernie Sanders’ team repeatedly insisted that the contest was far from settled.

Attendees cheer as Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Parker could not confirm whether Santorum is considering abandoning his bid altogether after finishing 11th out of 12 candidates in the Iowa caucus, saying only, “I’m hopeful to get the tour cranked back up soon”.

“I respect the fact that I have work to do”, said Clinton.

Candidate Bernie Sanders has gotten support from most age groups and has been endorsed heavily throughout his campaign with a variety of senators, governors and congressmen.

Although Sanders’ lead among New Hampshire Democrats and Democratic-leaning Independents had been on the rise in recent weeks, this new study shows a marked improvement for the self-professed socialist following his near-win in Iowa.

The set-up, less confrontational than a debate format, allowed for lengthier answers and even moments of levity as Sanders described his 1970s folk record as “the worst album ever made” and Clinton recalled dressing up in a cap and sunglasses when she was first lady to take incognito walking trips along the national mall.
