UCLA recruiting: Five-star LB Mique Juarez commits to the Bruins
UCLA’s next concern has to be surrounding Rosen with enough talent on both sides of the ball to be successful.

The decision to flip schools reportedly surrounded the firing of then USC head coach Steve Sarkisian.
According to several analyst projections (including Zach Hefland of the Los Angeles Times), UCLA looks to be in solid-to-fantastic shape for two marquee recruits on Signing Day – five-star linebacker Mique Juarez and four-star DL Boss Tagaloa. The Bruins play at BYU on September 17.
Now, it’s linebacker Mique Juarez of North Torrance High, who signed with the Bruins on Wednesday. After holding opponents under 200 rushing yards in the first three games of the season, UCLA lost Jack to a season-ending knee injury, and gave up more than 300 yards on the ground three times, finishing the season ranked No. 98 in rush defense.
Juarez’s commitment provides a capstone to what has become a very fruitful 2016 recruiting class for UCLA.
Juarez isn’t a consensus five-star recruit, but he’s close, and does merit a five-star rating in the 247Sports Composite, ranking as the No. 1 linebacker.

The Bruins, who were long considered the favorites to land Juarez, had to hold off the hard charge of two SEC schools, Alabama and Ole Miss, to land him. The high-scoring Trojans, who are averaging 84.2 points per game, have six players averaging 10.8 points or more led by sophomore guard Jordan McLaughlin (12.8) and junior guard Katin Reinhardt (12.5).
