Celine Dion, family bid farewell to René Angélil
In a tough week of goodbyes Celine Dion has joined mourners as she laid her husband, René Angélil to rest on Friday and then visited Salon Charles Rajotte, outside of Montreal in Repentigny, to bid a farewell to her elder brother Daniel Dion.

“According to his final wishes, his Funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, where 21 years ago, he chose to marry the one who will remain as the great love of his life, the artist for which he had the most respect, the woman who gave him light and happiness until his very last breath. You had a busy life, but we were communicating through golf, hockey, poker and smoked meat”, René-Charles Angélil said, sharing a quick laugh with his mother who looked on from the front pew. “I love you, Dad”. She was followed closely by her mother Therese and her 14-year-old son, Rene Charles.
Daniel died on January 16, just two days after Angélil passed away at the age of 73 following his own lengthy battle with throat cancer.
Celine, 47, cancelled her Las Vegas residency shows in the immediate aftermath of her husband’s death on January 14 and is not scheduled to return to the Caesars Palace stage until February 23.

He also requested the family entered the church at 3.20pm, just as Celine’s song “Trois Heures Vingt” – which translates to three and 20 – was played.
Countless local celebrities and dignitaries noted Angelil’s generosity, former premier Jean Charest, and current premier Philippe Couillard were among the attendees. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wife, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, and the federal Heritage Minister, Mélanie Jol, also attended the funeral.
