Ssangyong Motor Co, owned by India’s Mahindra & Mahindra, plans to unveil the long body version of its popular Tivoli sport utility vehicle next month, an industry source said Thursday. According to Mr. Pravin Shah, president and chief executive, automotive business at Mahindra, the Mahindra XUV Aero concept will “reflect bold design” and “come with all the futuristic connected technology”. Based on SsangYong’s new design philosophy, the Mahindra-SsangYong Tivoli looks a lot better than most Ssangyong SUVs on sale now.
The vehicle features an aggressive front fascia that accommodates newly styled grille, flanked by sweptback headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, and aggressive bumper that has wider air-dam and nicely styled fog lamps. Being a concept, the vehicle features oversized everything like the wheel arches and wheels. The Tivoli compact SUV measures 4,195mm in length, 1,795mm in width, and 1,590mm in height and has a large wheelbase of 2,600mm.
To be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options, the SsangYong Tivoli receives an e-XDi 160 1.6 liter diesel engine offering 115 PS peak power and 300 Nm peak torque at 1,500 to 2,500 rpm.
