4 candidates now out after Iowa caucuses — HAYWORTH
Paul angered the LGBT community with his statement at a campaign stop in Iowa that was widely interpreted to mean LGBT workers would be better off staying closeted than coming out in the workplace. He said in a statement it had been an honor for him to run a campaign for the White House.

Vowing to continue his drive for less-intrusive government and more restrained foreign policy, Paul, low on support and cash, said he looks forward to earning another Senate term representing Kentucky.
Ted Cruz edged out Donald Trump to take the first official win in the battle for the Republican nomination yesterday morning.
Meanwhile, polls show Paul, the son of former Texas representative and 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, was struggling to gain traction in New Hampshire in the days leading up to the state’s primary.
“He was the Trump of the party, but he got trumped by Trump as did a lot of people”, said Jack Richardson, a Paul supporter and member of the Kentucky GOP Executive Committee. Paul was low on the lifeblood of presidential campaigns, too – he had just over $1 million at the start of 2016, according to campaign finance records. Ron Paul, had built there four years ago.
O’Malley finished third in the three-candidate Democratic field, which now consists of Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
Complicating matters, Lexington Mayor Jim Gray announced last week he is challenging Paul in Kentucky’s Senate race, giving Democrats a strong chance to pick up the seat.
His absence from the race will significantly alter the debate within the Republican party.
Rand Paul is dropping out of the 2016 race for president.
For instance, Politico reported that it’s the Republican Hawks who benefit most from the decision. However, they have both embraced increasing airstrikes, with Trump calling for “bombing the hell out of Isis” and Cruz urging the United States to “carpet bomb them into oblivion”.
The Kentucky Senator not only faced issues in popularity, he was experiencing money problems.

In spite of his unsuccessful campaign, the senator is confident that it offered Republicans different alternatives to attract young people and minorities to the party.
