New Risks for Trump After Iowa Loss

Mr Cruz apologised to Dr Carson, but members of his campaign dismissed Mr Trump’s allegations on Wednesday during a campaign stop in New Hampshire. “And I want to congratulate Ted, and I want to congratulate all of the incredible candidates”. “I was always sort of skeptical of these polls because, to be perfectly candid, it’s a caucus state and these polls are, I felt, less than reliable” due to the caucus process.

Ted Cruz of stealing his first-place victory and calling for Cruz’s win to be nullified or for a new Iowa vote to take place.

“He Needs to probably show well in New Hampshire, doesn’t necessarily need to win, but needs to be credible”.

Some of the establishment Republican candidates have been focusing more on New Hampshire than Iowa, including former Florida governor Jeb Bush, Ohio Governor John Kasich and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

A University of MA poll out Wednesday showed the bombastic billionaire leading in the Granite State with 38% support among likely GOP voters, with Cruz and Marco Rubio in a distant second and third, with 14% and 12% respectively.

New Hampshire is the second in a series of state-by-state nominating contests to decide who will be each party’s candidate for president in November.

Instead of emulating Cruz, who covered every county in Iowa and had a powerful ground team, Trump thought he could win simply with a few speeches and by concentrating attention on himself, like when he skipped the Republican debate.

“Reality just hit the reality star – he lost Iowa and now nobody is talking about him, so he’s popping off on Twitter”, Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler said in a statement.

In the meantime, most candidates seem to be going after Cruz and Rubio, particularly the latter.

“Let’s get the bubble boy out of the bubble”. He also accused Cruz of sending out campaign mailers that graded Iowans on their past participation and compared them to their neighbors. “They’ve been first-term United States senators, but they’re never run a thing in their lives”. Cruz campaign spread the information hoping that Carson’s supporters would switch to the Texas senator. Only Marco Rubio has the chance of getting the votes of those in the Republican Party who call themselves “somewhat conservative”, “moderate” and “mainstream conservative”.

Rubio dismissed the criticisms, telling CNN they are a sign he is doing well. “They said, ‘No, no, his is, but yours isn’t.’ And I said, ‘Oh, that’s wonderful.’ I didn’t understand that”. “You usually only get attacked in politics if you present a threat to someone”.
