Vitara Brezza, BMW 1 series,Tucson launched at Auto Expo 2016

The most awaited models to be launched this year are Jaguar XE sedan, Maruti YBA compact SUV, Mahindra Halo electric-car, Tata Nexon SUV, Royal Enfield Himalayan, Bajaj Pulsar 700 SS concept based on the Duke 690 and TVS – BMW motorcycles.

General Motor: The US major, fighting a slowing sales in India, showcased the Chevrolet Essentia and Chevrolet Beat Active. Both the cars will come with state of the art connectivity and technology including Apple Car Play, Android Auto and Chevrolet’s latest MyLink infotainment system.

“We will continue to provide the best to our customers in India and will launch at least 10 new products in 2016”. It features Hyundai’s Fluidic design language with a front end that is dominated by that large hexagonal grille. It enables the vehicle to balance safety, fuel efficiency and superior driving performance.

Hyundai also showcased its ultra luxury Genesis model.

SUVs pouring onto the roads have been partly blamed for the Indian capital’s toxic air which the World Health Organization has ranked the worst on the planet.

“The SUV segment witnessed a robust growth of 22 per cent over the last five years in India and we expect it to grow exponentially in the future, creating the flawless environment for the legendary Jeep brand”, said Kevin Flynn, president and MD of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

The company said that the compact SUV has a localisation level of 98 percent.

The sub-four meter SUV will compete with rivals like Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 in compact SUV space. Japanese giant Honda Cars unveiled its compact SUV BR-V while its compatriot commercial vehicle maker Isuzu unveiled an adventure utility vehicle, D-MAX V-Cross, which would be manufactured in Andhra Pradesh starting April. It will be launched this year. With the company accounting for 30-35% of Suzuki Motor Corp’s profit in FY15, the parent is keen on pushing forward the advantage. It also gets side skirts and a black rear bumper with a diffuser-esque shape.

The Breeza is powered by a 1.3-litre DDiS engine churning 88.5bhp and a torque of 200Nm. Maruti Suzuki also made an announcement at the Auto Expo 2016 saying that it will launch three variants, Glamour, Urban and Sporty. Like Maruti, Honda too will enter the compact SUV segment with the BRV, a seven-seater people carrier.
