The CX-5 recall, which covers 264,463 crossovers in the US, was issued to fix the vehicle’s fuel filler pipe.

Customers will be notified once replacement parts are secured, Mazda spokeswoman Tamara Mlynarczyk said. Approximately 19,000 vehicles are being affected by the newly announced safety campaign in the US, Puerto Rico and Saipan.
Today was a not-so-great day for Mazda and owners of their CX-5 cars from the model years 2013-2016.
There are no reports of accidents or injuries occurring in the subject vehicles as a result of this condition.
Mazda issued the recall after the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that one of its tested vehicles did not comply with federal regulations.
The first of them targets all MY 2004-2006 B-Series pickup trucks with Takata driver’s side frontal airbag inflators.

What Owners Should Do: Owners can call Mazda at 800-222-5500 or contact their local Mazda dealer to verify that their vehicle is part of the recall and to schedule service. “The density of the propellant may be insufficient on the inflator for the passenger-side airbag”, said Mazda SA.
