Chelsea hint Terry COULD still earn new deal

Terry had been hoping to secure a 12-month extension but was informed by the club of their decision prior to last week’s win at Arsenal.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez could make his first Premier League start for two months when Southampton visit The Emirates tonight. But John’s statistics, not just that but also the view we have on him, I have on him – he’s very fit.

Terry said the incoming manager may be able to reverse the decision, while Chelsea suggested a contract offer could be forthcoming.

Unfortunately it was a no. It’s not going to be a fairytale ending, I’m not going to retire at Chelsea.

But a subsequent statement from the London club have left the door slightly open and could see the veteran Terry stay for a little longer.

“I couldn’t play for another Premier League club”. I always consider that I’m paid for my commitment to the club and I’m well paid so once it is over the club owes me nothing and I have to get on my life and find another way.

“I am very surprised”. He is fit and performing well, as he has been while I’ve been here. “I want to give everything and finish on a high, on 100 per cent good terms”, the former England worldwide explained. “We have to see what is coming up in the transition of the manager as well”. “The most important thing now is to get us up the league”. I like John very much, the way he’s playing and that he’s committed to the team, and will continue to be like that. But since then myself and everyone else has picked up back to where we are.

Falcao, who is on loan from Monaco but has not played since October due to a thigh injury, was linked with a deadline day move to former club Atletico Madrid or Valencia. “I can’t say at this moment [if Falcao will still move to China]”. “It’s going to be my past year and I want to go out at the top”.

He said: “I couldn’t play for another Premier League club”, said Terry. “It certainly won’t be in the Premier League”.

“There has not been a specific decision made yet”.

“The club are saying that they are still negotiating”.

“I think it became clear this season with the mutiny, for want of a better word, that maybe JT didn’t have the power of old to bring it all back into line”.
