Sachin Tendulkar Comes to the BMW Arena, Unveils the New 7 Series

“Starting with the launch of the BMW 7 Series and the BMW X1 here at Auto Expo, we are poised to kick-off an exciting product offensive for the year”, BMW Group India President Philipp von Sahr said. The X1 has been priced from a attractive Rs. 29.90 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 39.90 lakhs, while the all new 7-Series will retail at Rs. 1.11 crore which goes up to Rs. 1.55 crore (All prices Ex-showroom, Delhi).

The company had localized components up to 50% for the BMW 7-series which is assembled at its Chennai facility.

Referring to the domestic production of BMW 7 Series, he said that with the local production of the BMW 7 Series at the Chennai plant, “our commitment to “Make In India” will continue successfully in future”.

The group plans to launch more cars in this year.

The main highlight of the event on Wednesday in Greater Noida was the company’s brand ambassador and legendry cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who officially launched the auto.

The entry-level BMW G310R performance motorcycle is powered by a 313cc, DOHC, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that returns 34bhp at 9,500rpm, and 28Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The luxury salon vehicle will compete with highly popular Mercedes S-Class and Audi A8 in the segment.

Exteriors of the 2016 BMW 7-Series will be seen with an active kidney-shaped grille with air flap controls. The 3-series also features a slightly more powerful 2.0-litre diesel engine that now produces 187bhp.
