The fuel filler pipe on these model might rupture in a rear collision which would lead to a fuel leak, which will then lead to a fire.
The automaker said it is unaware of any injuries or accidents caused by the defect. The trucks had already been recalled to replace the passenger-side airbag inflator, and now the driver-side inflator has been deemed potentially risky if it explodes with too much force in an accident. This is for model years 2014-2016. However, Mazda says that owners who are concerned about operating their vehicles before they’ve been fixed will be given a free loaner vehicle from their local dealer.
The Mazda B-Series pickup truck has been added to the list of vehicles affected by the massive Takata airbag recalls.
Recalls really aren’t a big issue anymore, unless of course if it grows to the magnitude of the Volkswagen diesel emissions scandal or the Takata airbag saga.

In total, Mazda said it has issued recalls for 442,266 driver-side inflators and 416,475 passenger-side inflators.
