Amazon already has a similar service in the USA called AmazonFresh, where it was first launched in 2007, where pick up options were provided to its users through Amazon lockers available in public zones. In the initial rollout of the service, it is working by teaming up with retail chains like Big Bazaar, Reliance Fresh, Godrej Nature’s Basket, BPCL In & Out, Food World, and Good Food. Also, Ola too entered the grocery space with its Ola store. FE had broken the story in January this year.
The company delivers to 74 pincodes across the city.
HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) – Amazon has announced on Thursday, Feb. 4 that its Prime Now 1-hour delivery service has expanded to Virginia Beach as well as surrounding areas.

Offered in select markets, Prime Now is a perk bundled with Amazon Prime membership, giving members who use the Prime Now mobile app access to one-hour (for a $7.99 fee) and two-hour delivery (no extra fee) windows for select goods. The move comes at a time when existing hyperlocal startups are in the midst of tinkering with their business models in order to make themselves financially viable. Surprisingly, Kirana Now, that lists itself as a seller has products priced at either more or equal to what other sellers are selling on its platform.
