Donald Trump to Ted Cruz: You stole Iowa

At the rallies in the so-called Granite State – which votes on Tuesday – it became clear how the Iowa contest had rejigged the equations for the campaigns.

Both likely and registered New Hampshire voters say they will support US Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders and Republican candidate Donald Trump in their state’s upcoming primary, a new poll revealed on Wednesday. He raised $20 million during January and hoped to turn an Iowa win into a fundraising bonanza. “That is why all of the polls were so wrong any why he got more votes than anticipated”.

“This started with a CNN report, it’s just an abject lie”, said Brookover.

“Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified”, Mr Trump wrote on Twitter.

The Iowa results don’t necessarily point to an eventual nominee: Just twice in 40 years has the GOP caucus victor gone on to the claim the nomination in campaigns with no incumbent Republican president. After their disastrous showings in Iowa, all three know the future of their campaigns depends on them stopping Mr Rubio in New Hampshire.

Surprised by Cruz’s come-from-behind win in the Republican caucus, Trump’s concession speech to his supporters was surprisingly magnanimous towards Cruz.

The retired neurosurgeon, who said his fourth-place performance in Iowa would have been better had the email never been sent, criticized the move as “a dirty trick” and said the Cruz campaign should face some kind of consequences.

The newspaper story reported that a pre-caucus poll showed Trump leading 28 percent and Cruz in second with 23 percent. “I think those people would be more susceptible to the media”.

In a press gaggle in Goffstown, New Hampshire, on Wednesday, Cruz said, “You know, my girls are five and seven and I got to tell you, Caroline and Katherine are better behaved than a presidential candidate who responds by insulting everyone everyday when he loses”.

Trump bowed out of Fox News/Google debate in Des Moines – the final debate before the caucuses – after objecting to co-moderator Megyn Kelly, who he contended had treated him unfairly, as well as a statement that Fox News issued as he threatened to pull out.

Trump was also quoted as saying that his campaign “didn’t have much of a ground game because I didn’t think I was going to be winning”.

“I came in second and nobody said it was a victory”.

Cruz questioned Trump’s fitness to serve as president in the face of his lastest Twitter blasts, accusing the New Yorker of throwing a “tantrum”.
