OJ Simpson miniseries has strong ratings in debut

The highly anticipated series People V OJ Simpson got off to a dramatic start last night when OJ was seen threatening to shoot himself in the head while arguing with Robert Kardashian in Kim Kardashian ‘s teenage bedroom.

The numbers are in for the premiere of The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, making it the network’s most watched series launch ever. “They’re getting the big stuff so right, they really nailed the racial issue in the biggest way possible”. This perspective of the trial is what makes the show more receptive among today’s audiences.

The murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1994 and subsequent trial of former football star Simpson captivated America and Travolta remembers where he was during the fallen football star’s infamous vehicle chase with Los Angeles police officers.

Slate runs down a bunch of “fact vs. fiction” from the first episode by comparing it to its source material, Jeffrey Toobin’s 1996 book, The Run of His Life. Kardashian, who went on to defend Simpson in court, was able to diffuse the situation by saying, “I could never walk in this room, my daughter couldn’t sleep in this bed”.
